I recently had an encounter with law enforcement in Yakima and it was a positive experience. The officers were courteous and handled the situation well. *I appreciate their professionalism* and the way they handled themselves. However, I think it's important for any police department to regularly assess and improve their approach to community policing. Creating an environment of trust and transparency should be a top priority for the Yakima Police Department.
